What drama will win 2021 TV Drama of the Year?
Drama: We’re meant to save it for our mommas. But that isn’t always possible because we’re big kids who live in our own homes with our hot spouses. So instead, we have to face the dramas ourselves. However, the Taste Budz are not brave or competent, so we called the bravest and most competent people we know — Katelynn and Books from Unnatural 20s. Katelynn is brave because she will approach squirrels in the park, even if she hasn’t met them before. Books is brave because she reads books, literally the scariest collections of words. James from Timeline Scavengers also joins us. James is brave in his own way that he asked us not to share.
Succession is fun, sexy, mean, and smart, but does it have the fire power of the Barry Jenkins-directed The Underground Railroad, based on a Pulitzer prize-winning book that special guest James has read? We assume the whole thing. If you say you read a book, it means the whole thing, right? Squid Game had a diabolical grip on pop culture for a minute, but was that long enough to counter the impact of WandaVision, a show people are probably going to have to hear about in grief counseling for the next couple of decades?
These are the questions we get to the bottom of on this very special episode. And the only way to know the answers is to listen, to stop what you are doing and take the time to really listen. Thank god real life isn’t that way!
