The Day of the Locust is the first bonus episode of the 1975 Movie of the Year season!
On a very special episode of Movie of the Year: 1975, Ryan and Greg are kicking off the bonus season. 1975 had way too many interesting movies for just an 8 movie bracket, so the Taste Budz are busting out and doing a whole grip of bonus shows, starting with John Schlesinger’s The Day of the Locust! In this darkly comedic drama about 1940’s Hollywood, a group of misfits and losers all try to help and hurt each other, which is similar to Ryan and Greg’s dynamic. On this podcast, they’ll try and see if they can classify this movie with a genre or type, discuss what Lynch learned from the movie and the film’s analysis on art versus artifice. Plus they’ll hand out some awards! All of that, and more, on an all-new Movie of the Year!
