Drinking Game: White Collar
White Collar is a TV show. It is, for the most part, predictable and formulaic. It is also unlikely and implausible. The Popfilter Podcast guys hate it, and probably for these exact reasons. I, however, LOVE it.
I started watching the first 3 seasons on Netflix over the holidays, mostly just to see what the deal was about this show that I’ve seen commercials for during Psych over the past few years.
To my surprise, I found it mixed my love of a good heist (ok, sometimes a mediocre heist, but still) with witty rapport and behind-the-back hijinks. The best part of all, somehow the show made me care about these characters, and over time gave them dimension.
Dimension aside they still follow basic character rules, which is what makes this a great show for a drinking game. Now, there are already a couple drinking games for this show on the internet, so mine is more for the interactive group-viewing sorta thing. If you want to sit and listen closely and absorb everything, then this is not the game for you. If you have several fans of the show around, who want to get a little rowdy, then this is your game.
Rules-
Drinks = sips, unless you’re feeling crazy, then make it something else, ie shots (but I am not responsible for your safety)
- The first time (not counting opening credits) that you see Tiffani Thiessen on screen, whichever player yells “Kapowski!†first makes everyone else take a drink.
- When a guest star/cameo first appears on screen the first player to yell out the name of another TV show or movie this actor was in can make 2 other players drink…if he or she names a wrong movie/TV show then the namer has to drink twice…if it is obscure and you have to look it up on imdb to confirm then everyone has to take 1 drink…and if the imdb search is what proves the namer wrong that’s another 2 drinks for him/her.
- If any player mentions that someone on-screen is hot, good-looking, sexy, delicious, etc., then you have the right to force them to take a drink. This rule is open to interpretation, but could be as restrictive as to include dreamy sighs.
- Whenever Mozzie refers to Peter as “The Suit†whichever player calls out “The Suit†can dole out 2 drinks (to 2 different player or both to the same player).
- Whenever Mozzie refers to Elizabeth Burke as “Mrs, Suit†whichever player calls out “Mrs. Suit†can dole out 2 drinks (to 2 different player or both to the same player).
- The first time Neil wears a hat onscreen, whoever calls out “The Hat†can dole out 2 drinks.
- Anytime the Peter and his wife have the “I can’t trust Neil†talk, everyone takes 2 drinks
- Anytime there is a character onscreen drinking what you are drinking, (ie wine, beer or cocktail), then you have to take a drink.
- If you have a DVR, then make someone take a drink every time they ask for the show to be paused or rewound. That should loosen them up a bit.
