Movie of the Year: 1991 – JFK (Bonus Episode)

Movie of the Year: 1991

JFK

Will JFK shame the 1991 Movie of the Year?

In many ways 1991 gave us our most normal, run-of-the-mill, norm core movies. Well, I am here to say thank gosh for the bonus shows because here we are with JFK—half weird YouTube video essay, half historian’s fever dream, and every bit of three freaking hours. Not normal, no, and certainly not running any mills. But still full of so many things to talk about and compelling mysteries to attempt to unravel.

JFK invites us to imagine a crazy world where the CIA boops the president on the snoot in front of the heckin nation and then does an epic fail covering it up. The investigation into what really happened takes Kevin Coster–as himself–from New Orleans to Washington and back again as he unravels a mystery involving the CIA, the Mafia, and the mighty dragon of the military industrial complex itself.

By the end we may be more confused as to what actually happened than we were before, but the one thing we’ll not be able to deny is that we are through the looking glass here, people….all the way through… And if you don’t believe me, tune in!

Nineteen and ninety-one. It was a magical time full of promise and wonder and we have to go back. However, we cannot. We can only move forward. Because we are podcasters, and bravely moving into the future is all we know how to do. All of that, and somehow more, on an all-new Movie of the Year!
