Into the Japanese Spider-Verse

The Taste Buds finish their look at Toei’s Spider-Man show!

On an all-new episode of The Superhero Show Show, Cassie and the Boyz, along with Unnatural 20’s Katelynn, wrap up their coverage on the Japanese Spider-Man television show! Last week, they covered the first four episodes. This week, they jump around a little bit. First up, Spider-Man has to fight a rock band that wrote a song about him! Then, Spider-Man takes on a biker gang! How about an orphanage-destroying casino! And then the final episode, which is mostly about Amazoness! Does the show break out of the template that it followed for the first four episodes? Or is its reliable predictability part of what makes it so great? And how will the show do when it starts to give the spotlight to other characters and makes Takuya/Spidey a supporting player? Tune in and find out!

As if that wasn’t enough, the Shushie for Villain of the Year is also handed out this week. With last year’s big winner, Watchmen, no longer eligible for awards, which baddies will step up and take the award?

Finally, the Taste Buds get back to watching episodes of  X-Men: The Animated Series, with the start of the third season!!! A new season brings a new animation house and a slightly different animation style! Will it be an improvement, or will the Taste Buds miss their old toons?
