Emily Beaver is a triple threat: writing poetry, fiction, and nonfiction. Emily is obsessed with people. She handles this by writing about them, and has done so ever since the age of eight. Since then she’s gone on to be published in various magazines and collections, including Chicken Soup for the Soul: The Cancer Book, and her debut novel, Slipping Reality, which she published at sixteen. Emily graduated from Chapman University in 2016 with a BFA in Creative Writing and a minor in Psychology. She currently lives in Burbank and works at Warner Bros. Studios.
Emily is also a former student of Mike’s, and the two chat about writing through grief, early success, juggling genres, and throwing the best parties to create community. The two may also be a bit too comfortable, so explicit content warning.
