The Superhero Show Show #328: Stargirl Is Better Than Batman

The Superhero Show Show #328

Stargirl Is Better Than Batman

(at least compared to the Batman from Legends of the Superheroes)

The Taste Buds discuss the fifth episode of Stargirl (@Stargirl_CW) on an all-new The Superhero Show Show! The Junior Justice Society is starting to take shape as Courtney (@Brecbassinger) and Yolanda (@yvettemonreal) hunt down Rick, son of Hourman, and future Hourman Jr. He’s kind of a butthole about it, but Courtney, in true Courtney fashion, thinks that she can talk him into being a team player. They also tell Beth that she did a good job with the Dr. Mid-Nite glasses, but she can kick rocks. Based on the picture above, I’m going to guess that it doesn’t stick.

Then, the Taste Buds hand out another Shushie, this time for Best Superhero Team. The Acting Ensemble Shushie will come later on in the awards season, so this isn’t about acting chemistry, but character chemistry. Which TV team is the best at their jobs?

If THAT wasn’t enough, the Taste Buds continue their journey through the superhero television of the past by watching the first episode of Legends of the Superheroes. This infamous made-for-TV special needs to be seen to be believed, but also should not be seen. If you’ve seen clips, keep it that way, because the show does very little to support its almost hour-long runtime. It’s a live-action…play (?), featuring a variety of DC heroes and villains fighting each other over a bomb that will destroy the planet…I think. Also Roz from Night Court and jet-skis. Adam West and Burt Ward reprise their iconic television roles, 11 years after their show went off the air, as does Frank Gorshin as the Riddler. Watch Legends of the Superheroes HERE!

And then, of course, the Taste Buds end their show with their usual wrap-up of the week in Superhero TV, which this week includes episodes of Agents of SHIELD and Snowpiercer. All of that, and so much more, on an all-new The Superhero Show Show!
