We have talked about these movies. We’ve joked about them, yelled about them, recommended them, chided them, held them gently, and suckled them from our bosoms. Now all but four must die, and they must die by our hand. The enormity, it takes the very breath away. But we are steeled by our sacred duty: to pick the movie of every year and to defend that pick with our very reputations. Can we let our love of these movies keep us from discharging our duty to them? No, no we cannot.
