The Taste Buds discuss 2020’s best house party, Lovers Rock!
The TasteBudz go to a party no one can get mad at you for attending because it took place 50 years ago! We hear at the Pop Shop can’t ever decide if lovers rock or not, which is why we were blown away by a movie instantly planting its flag in the ground and unequivocally declaring its thesis right in the title. Yes, fair readers, Lovers do indeed rock. You’re probably still a few months from being able to go to a house party without feeling all weird and/or bad about it, so if I were you, I’d jump on the old dance floor that is this movie and (lovers) rock the night away.
Parties and movies should both be an hour max
This is probably an unpopular opinion but the average party should clock in at 60 minutes American and should feature equal parts light conversation, light dancing, and bud light. Everyone should leave before I say something embarrassing, and then we should all text each other the rest of the night about how it was fun.
Cookie is not in this one
Cookie we all love you. But you are simply not in this movie. If you were I bet you’d be out there dancing the night away with the cow.
