The Superhero Show Show #390: Clark Kent Picks His Lane

The Superhero Show Show #390

Clark Kent Picks His Lane

The Taste Buds review the season finale of Superman and Lois on an all-new episode of The Superhero Show Show!

On a very special episode of The Superhero Show Show, Cassie and the Boyz discuss the season finale of Superman and Lois, and the first season overall! The show has surprised the entire gang, quickly becoming one of their favorite shows on right now…and one of the most adult. Obviously, when I say adult, I mean it deals with mature themes, not that it’s a porno version of Superman on the CW. The Taste Buds talk about how good of a job the show did with wrapping up all of its plotlines, and whether or not it landed in an interesting place for next season.

They’re also heading to X-TASMANIA, and finishing the Out of the Past storyline. After all of the flashbacks and set-ups of part one, now it’s time to get down to business! The X-Men finally meet up with Wolverine and Gambit to fight a giant, see-through Mike from Monsters Inc. Will they be able to kill this thing and save Jubilee? And what about Wolverine and Lady Deathstrike? Will they be able to put aside their differences, and smooch like they did in the past? And will any of this matter after Professor X’s visions about a dark, Phoenix-like future?

Finally, more X-Men: The Animated Series talk is on its way, when Ryan sits down with Willie and Sonya from The X-Men TAS Podcast. These two co-hosts admit to stealing the idea of going through the cartoon episode by episode for a podcast, but pulling some Bishop-like time-traveling stuff got them to start our idea five years before Superhero Show Show! The three talk about why the show endures and how it created pop culture as we know it today. They also run down their favorite episodes/storyline, and explain what animated show The Taste Buds should cover when they’re done with X-Men: The Animated Series!

All of that, plus updates on new episodes of What If…?, Stargirl, Titans, Legends of Tomorrow, and Riverdale! Too much show!
