WRITERS’ BLOCK EPISODE 19: VICTORIA CHANG

Today’s guest is Victoria Chang! Awhile back, Victoria stopped by Mike’s house and the two sat on the living room floor for some reason and chatted about why Victoria doesn’t like doing readings, the benefits of a writer keeping a day job, and why she’s drawn to poetry “projects.”

If you’re in the Southern California area on the day this episode drops (2/28!) you can catch Victoria at Writers’ Block Live along with Nan Cohen and Eric Morago at the 1888 Center in Orange!

Victoria’s newest book of poems, Barbie Chang, was published by Copper Canyon Press in 2017. Her third book, The Boss, was published by McSweeney’s and won a PEN Center USA Literary Award and a California Book Award. Her other books are Salvinia Molesta and Circle. She also edited an anthology, Asian American Poetry: The Next Generation, and has written a picture book for kids called Is Mommy? She received a Guggenheim Fellowship and a Sustainable Arts Foundation Fellowship in 2017.
